My waffle house experience

Image
This past Tuesday was one of the best Waffle house experiences I have ever had and here's why.     Tuesday night my friends and I decided it was in our best interest to go to Waffle House in Lima, Ohio at Twelve AM. Now if you know Lima you know sometimes you need to be careful of your surroundings in certain areas. Before arriving at Waffle House, the boys and I were excited, my buddy Jevin was even crying out of joy. Once we arrived to Waffle House we got an eerie feeling because there were only two workers and it was quiet. In the corner of the restaurant were some people who were one hundred percent on drugs who were smacking their food and having the time of their lives! At First, we were a little concerned of our surroundings but once we got to know the waitress and the cook it was amazing! Was our waitress drinking on the job? yes absolutely she was and it was incredibly funny because she was the best waitress I've ever had at Waffle House.       One of the ladies in th

This Past Friday I was blessed with the special privilege of attending the ONU social media workshop!        It was an amazing opportunity to learn from speakers who know their professions and truly love them. The speakers were more than willing to share with us what they had to do to get where they are today! What I thought was very cool was how some of the guest speakers we had were ONU graduates themselves. It's not every day we get to learn from someone who was in our shoes at some point in their lives. One of the most interesting things I learned about Airstream thanks to Carey Walley and Ashely Roberts was indeed the fact that Airstream headquarters is in Ohio.       My family is very familiar with the Recreational Vehicle business, and never once did I hear about their headquarters being this close to where I live! It was also very interesting learning from Steven Miller who works for Disney Land. He taught me to follow my dreams and pursue my passions when graduating. He a

How to Strategize with Twitter

Image
This week's chapter outlines the importance of strategizing with a big social media platform like Twitter. With this being said there are many aspects within the social media platforms which can allow for businesses to thrive and push product and services out to the world. With social media platforms such as Twitter pushing out new media everyday this allows for startups to make profit, and sales. When I'm on Twitter I am always looking for the next and upcoming item or product. following sites allows for me to see everything as it is coming out to mainstream.      During COVID online shopping changed the retail game completely, during quarantine many individuals pushed towards online shopping. Social media platforms started pushing product out with their very own marketplaces or even big name companies tweeting out the latest product or invention created. This allowed for humans to have products directly shipped to their doors, making online shopping so much easier.     T

Spring Break In Miami

Image
This past spring break was quite the adventure for many reasons.      When going on spring break as a freshman in college I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into, especially going with three of my best friends to Miami, Florida. As soon as I hopped off the plane in Fort Lauderdale, I knew I was in for a long, and unforgettable week. Thankfully to my surprise my sister was the first person to greet me! I haven't seen my sister in so long which was amazing finally seeing her after so long.     Once all my friends arrived in Miami it was time to go to the beach, I mean who doesn't Absolutely love the beach during spring break? Arriving at the beach and seeing the mass amount of people on the beach was insane and overwhelming. Rows upon rows of college kids all down the beach, there was no walking room nor was there a place to lay in the sand. When making our way down the beach I noticed some things no college kid should see, I acted like I saw nothing and kept w

Twitter Marketing

Image
This week in class we talked about the importance of having a strong marketing presence through Twitter, and how we can learn and use it to our advantage by developing not just a content strategy but also a target audience.  This Chapter outlines the importance and the steps needed in order to make the right decisions when it comes to marketing strategy with twitter. Just like past chapters, pushing your social media presence can be a huge benefit to smaller businesses which are just starting out and want to promote their business' to the world. Pushing a product or business out through social media platforms is currently the biggest way to get ahead of competitors, this creates more interest and ability to create more. Some key takeaways from this chapter which were outlined in the "marketing with Twitter" section were less promotion and more conversation. Making tweets multi-way discussions and open the door for conversations to position the brand as one which adds val

My Day off

Image
Recently I was gifted one of the best presents I have ever received. This past Tuesday I was blessed with the opportunity of having no class! I was so excited because I haven't had one day this year where I didn't have some sort of class, or work to do. When my professor told our class she was going to be out of town until Thursday I was Pumped! I was ready to attack Tuesday like I had nothing to do but relax. When I woke up, I was ready to start my lovely Tuesday.  When living in a dorm room it's hard to find things to do, only because there's simply not much to do other than stay in your room or go to friend's room. The First thing I did when I finally arose from the depths of my bed was yoga. I love to do yoga just so I can wake up my body and wake up my mind. Once I was done with yoga I immediately went and took a cold shower to completely wake up. After my shower it was time to get breakfast and study. Nothing is better in my opinion than breakfast from the lo

Utilizing Instagram

This week in class we have learned how to utilize and market Instagram! I learned in class Instagram is a vital social media platform for influence and strategy.  When using social media platforms, it's Important to have a target audience to focus on throughout the process of pushing things you want other's to see out to the media. Without a target audience it is incredibly hard to push out product pr services. Instagram is an entirely visual platform. Unlike Facebooks, which relies on both text and pictures, or twitter, which relies on text alone. Instagram's sole purpose is to enable users to share images or videos with their audience. This chapter outlines Instagram's business profiles offer all of the same features of a personal profile with the benefits of powerful analytics, the ability to create Instagram ads, add contact information, and a business address directly to profile selection. The chapter also talks about how to create a strong Instagram business prof

Weekend In Middlebury

Image
This past weekend was an amazing refresher and a great time to show my friend Jevin where I grew up.  This past Friday I decided it was time for me to go home to see my friends and family. My journey home started at about three PM on Friday, my drive home is approximately two hours and a straight shot there. Thankfully this time I had some company on my drive home, driving two hours without anyone except you in the car can sometimes be incredibly boring. Jevin wanted to see what my hometown is like, let me tell you he was shocked! I come from a predominantly Amish community, yes you heard right, Amish land.  My area is also home to the biggest recreational vehicle manufacturers in the country. On our way there we had some close calls, semi-trucks flying past us going ninety miles an hour is scary, especially when the wind is pushing your car towards them. I somehow managed to hit a huge towing strap in the middle of the highway halfway home, I thought I completely destroyed my wheel b
